To reduce overdose deaths and support recovery by improving timely access to addiction treatment and crisis intervention services statewide.

Policy Proposals:

  1. Establish 24/7 Walk-In Recovery Centers

    • Develop a network of recovery centers open around the clock to provide immediate, no-appointment-needed access to treatment and support services.

    • Services will include assessment, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, and peer support to help individuals begin recovery promptly.

  2. Deploy Mobile Crisis Response Teams Equipped with Narcan

    • Implement mobile crisis units staffed with trained counselors and equipped with Narcan to respond quickly to overdose emergencies and connect individuals to care.

    • Collaborate with local emergency services and community organizations to ensure effective, coordinated responses.

  3. Support Peer Recovery Specialists

    • Fund training and deployment of peer recovery specialists who provide guidance and encouragement based on lived experience with addiction.

    • Integrate peer support into the recovery center
